The Fishburne Caissons capped their season with a 57-22 victory over Fuqua School, giving Fishburne their first winning season since 2013. Fishburne’s offensive line, led by senior captain, Ryan Manning, and sophomores, Jackson Snyder and Saba Mushkudiani, blocked downfield for a total of 320 yards on the ground. Junior running back, Dajor Carter carried the ball for 221 yards and an impressive five touchdowns. Senior running back, John Sawn, was able to run for thirty yards on three carries and add a touchdown on the ground of his own. Fishburne’s quarterback, Chase Altis, threw for 140 yards and a 30-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver, Justin Madden.
Fishburne’s defense was able to hold the Fuqua Eagles to only three touchdowns. John Sawn, the Cassions defensive captain and Strong Safety, led the team in tackles, racking up 11 in total, along with a sack. Dajor Carter didn’t just get the job done on offense, he was also able to nab an interception while covering two Fuqua receivers in the red zone. Justin Madden was also able to nab an interception in the endzone as well going into the second half of the game.
Fuqua School was only able to score once in the first half and two more times late in the second half; however, Fishburne controlled the tempo of the game and kept increasing the scoring gap.
